Do I need to be artistic or creative to benefit?Not at all! The approaches I use are designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of artistic experience. Many participants start by saying "I'm not creative" and discover that everyone can engage with these practices when given the right support and environment.

I'm not good at talking about my feelings. Is this for me?Absolutely. Many women find it easier to process emotions through creative activities rather than direct conversation. These practices offer a gentle "side door" approach to emotional exploration. The physical activity of journalling or creating gives your mind space to process complex feelings in its own time. There's no pressure to verbalise anything you're not ready to share. The approaches I use provide alternative pathways to self-understanding that don't rely on verbal expression alone. Creating with your hands often help thoughts and feelings emerge naturally, without pressure. You choose how much or little you wish to share with others.

What if I'm not going through a major life transition?You don't need to be experiencing a dramatic life change to benefit from creative wellbeing practices. Many women over 40 describe a more subtle transition, a growing awareness that something needs to shift, even if they can't yet define what that is. These practices can help clarify those undefined feelings and provide direction during periods of questioning or gentle evolution.

I'm worried about getting emotional in front of others. What if that happens?Creating in a supportive environment can sometimes bring emotions to the surface, and this is completely normal and welcomed. My workshops are trauma-informed and built on principles of emotional safety. You're never required to share anything that feels uncomfortable.

Is this therapy?No, creative wellbeing coaching is not therapy. While the approaches can be therapeutic, We do no provide clinical mental health services. HereForMe creates supportive spaces for personal exploration and wellbeing through creative practices. If you're currently working with a mental health professional, these approaches can complement that work.

How is this different from traditional therapy?While therapy typically focuses on talking through challenges, creative wellbeing coaching engages different parts of your brain through hands-on activities. Many participants find this approach allows them to bypass their inner critic and access insights they might not reach through conversation alone. Many women choose to use these practices alongside traditional therapy, finding they complement each other beautifully.

I tried journalling before and didn't stick with it. Why would this be different?Traditional journalling often lacks structure and guidance, which can make it difficult to maintain. The techniques I teach provide specific frameworks and prompts designed to make the process both more accessible and more rewarding. Additionally, the combination of visual and written elements often keeps participants engaged when words alone might feel limiting.

What's the difference between a Discovery Workshop and the 6-week programme?Discovery Workshops are one-off sessions designed to introduce you to creative wellbeing approaches. The 6-week Creative Transition Journey provides deeper, ongoing support and allows you to develop practices that can sustain you through significant changes.

What do I need to bring?All materials are provided for in-person sessions. For online sessions, I'll send you a list of simple supplies to have on hand, most of which you'll likely already have at home.

Do you offer online workshops?Not yet. I am I offer both in-person and online options for most workshops. The online experiences are carefully designed to create the same sense of community and guidance as in-person sessions, with materials shipped to you ahead of time.

Is this only for women?While my primary focus is on women navigating midlife transitions, I occasionally offer mixed-gender workshops, particularly for caregivers. All environments are inclusive and welcoming.

I'm a carer with very limited time. How could this work for me?As someone who understands the demands of caregiving, I've designed options specifically for those with limited time. These include: Mini sessions (45-60 minutes) that can fit into brief windows of respite care Take-home creative kits with simple instructions for 5-10 minutes daily practices Online options that eliminate travel time (coming soon) Special workshops during Carers Week when additional support might be available Even small creative moments can provide significant relief from caregiver stress. The techniques I share can be integrated into your existing routine rather than requiring additional time.

I'm already overwhelmed with responsibilities. How will I find time for this?My coach practices are designed to integrate into busy lives, not add to your burden. We start with micro-practices that take just 5-10 minutes. Many women find that even these brief creative moments create a ripple effect, generating more energy and focus for their other responsibilities. It’s like putting on your own oxygen mask first - a small action that enables everything else.

Will I have to share personal information with the group?Never. While some women find comfort in sharing their experiences, all sharing is completely optional. Many participants choose to keep their creative work and reflections private, and that's absolutely respected.

How do you ensure confidentiality in group workshops?Confidentiality is fundamental to creating safe spaces. All participants agree to keep what's shared in workshops private. I also establish clear guidelines at the beginning of each session about respecting boundaries and maintaining discretion. Your personal reflections and creative work remain entirely yours to share or keep private as you choose.
